Do I really like the “carrots” that I really like?

HI again. Update on me- Around the 4 weeks in Mumbai has been over now. Have got used to NMIMS and Mumbai. Rains have been bad. Here are some pictures of it-

The last post says I will be more active but then I could really not find any topic to put in here. And I am sure no one was actually waiting for a new post , so it doesn’t make a difference. However here the new one goes…

Do you have a child hood favorite fruit, vegetable, drink, etc? I do. Mine is carrots. Am sure most of us have such favorites. Onions, cucumber, pickles, paachak, papad being the few for different people.

But do we really like it? Or is something that we are educated to like when we were not so intelligent to understand that we were being fooled. Imagine this.

When I was 6 yrs old I found it really stupid to waste my playing time eating food. It was a tuff task for my mother to feed me some grains to keep me healthy. One fine day she offered me carrot. I did not like it. I hated it. But then it was economical to eat carrot. It wastes less of my playing time. The next day the same thing happened. However the third day I did not feel likes eating it. So I did not.

But a process had begun by this time. My parents had started associating carrots with me. Whenever there were relatives at my place it was mentioned that I like carrots. My uncle, my aunt every started offering me carrots to keep me off crying. I did not like it, but sometimes I stopped crying. (How can a kid cry when his mouth is forcefully stuffed with carrots?) The other times I threw the carrots.

It kept on going for long time. I used to hear everyone speak of my carrot liking every single day. 30 days past by somehow. However on the 31st day I started believing that I like carrots. What actually happened was – IT WAS FEED INTO MY SYSTEMS THAT I LIKE CARROTS. MY PARENTS UNINTENTIONALLY DRILLED INTO ME THAT I LIKE CARROTS.

This is my explanation of “childhood favorites”. Hope you identify with it. And if you don’t do care to put in another explanation.

Read between the lines

Updates on me- I have got admission in NMIMS(MUMBAI for my MBA). College starts on 22 june and I shall an MBA by March 2011(yuppieeee). Also from now on I shall try to be more regular on the blog now- at least for my sake.

Election time. Big saga. And there we have our poor Govinda.

Both the SP leaders and Govinda got booked on the same day (holi-day) for giving money to aam janta, which supposingly is illegal during election time.However, as money and power speaks, the sp leader gets saved (even after proudly claiming responsibility for the act) and Govinda gets caught in the drama.(EC had to do put at least one of them under the hammer).

But it would be worth noticing that even though Govinda has been taped giving money on Holi, what the TV channel (CNN IBN) skilfully edited is the part which shows who he is giving money to- eunuchs.(look care fully next time and you will realize that) I am sure people can understand his action now.
P.S. - 1. Disclaimer- I don’t support Govinda or any one as a matter of fact.

Do you know all numbers from 1 to 300 correctly??

All I want you to do is write all numbers from 1 to 300 without doing EVEN A SINGLE MISTAKE.

I know it sounds real easy to do but it’s not ;and I may sound a dud asking you to do this task but (I m not :) ) all I can say as of now”is seeing is believing” and to believe me you will have to try it out and see it yourself.

Here are certain rules (very basic things, no catch, it’s basically for those super intelligent people)
1. All the numbers must be in order. As in 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and so on…till 300.
2. The digits of the number should be written in order i.e. to write 146, 1 should b written first then 4 then 6.If in case you write 46 and miss out the 1, it’s an error. There is no scope for correcting an error once done. :)

3. Writing even a single digit of the next number without completing the current number is considered as an error.

4. The most important of all is- You are your own judge so please don’t cheat,

All this may sound real stupid but try it do let me know if you are able finish the task successfully.( leave comments –I wanna know how it is working for you guys)

P.S. – It more for my cat frnds. It a superb exercise to check your concentration level, your determination and personality. I tried it in my college business fest and only a few of 100s could complete the task. Out of the people who could do it one ended in IIML, the other got 5 converts in first try for cat and is now in NMIMS.(She cleared all exam including XAT in 2008 but cat). One of other few who could do it was our college H.O.D. , a very capable women. Besides, WE (NOT TO FORGET MY TEAM) also won the most innovative business idea on this concept(I know its weird that no1 ever thought of it).MAY BE NOW YOU TRY, IF U HAV NOT YET.

News Channel or Saas Bahu Soaps-- I prefer the latter. (Of course in a worst case scenario)

(I created this blog sometime days back,after waiting to write something new and being unable to think of a new topic, i am post one of my previous article. )

“The content of this channel is ALMOST a work of fiction. Any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental and not intended. However few of the characters depicted in this story are real but the channel doesn’t……….”

With the news channel giving tough competition to Saas bahu soaps, it is high time that these channels start carrying a disclaimer like the one above.The content of Indian news channel I believe has become more or less a work of fiction. In the run for TRP they have lost their identity.

There have been a number of incidences which have been wrongfully branded as news by these channel. “The Arushi murder case”, which of course has been gold of content for News channel, is one among them. More than half their prime time inventory for months has been spent on it. Then there is the fantasy with the word ALIEN. One news channel claims to have spotted Aliens and another soon comes with an interview with this alien.(Poor NASA scientist.some1 let them know that the alien they have been looking for,from days has already been “CONTRACTED” by the super efficient news Channel).

A claim by Dhoni of the Asia cup schedule being too tight -Is good enough to start a discussion on “should Dhoni retire” or is it “time for the selectors to look for a new captain”. The party to the discussion-Two losers- one who wanted to be a journalist but has become fused host, another who claims of being better than any other cricketer in the world but chooses to b a cricket expert out of his own will.

Also not to forget we have the comedians who are making flashing news every other hour for the channel.

At 11 pm these channel become the place for cheap pleasure. Rape case and escorts being the prime content. The minutest unnecessary details of such case are furnished. And if need be (which always is) there is a stimulated video explaining the real situation (and of course in detail, after all the claim of providing complete news has to follow.)

The new gem is inflation. General content- A women claiming to be the worst hit of the governments so called inability to manage inflation. Why- coz the merc she was planning to buy is now a couple of thousands buck costlier.

I am frustrated and I have decided to teach them a lesson. The race is for T.R.P. and the best way to hurt their T.R.P. I have stopped watching such news channel .Nor do I let anyone watch it in my presence. Am happy that I reduced their T.R.P., even if it is by a billionth.
